If a fine beer is your thing, then you must head over to the 4 Pines Brewing Company’s restaurant and microbrewery in Manly.
On tap you will find the 4 Pines seven selections: Kolsch; Pale Ale; Hefeweizen; Extra Special Bitter; Stout; their Cider; and the Keller Door which is a rotational tap/hand-pump intended for new beer exploration. The wine list is small but has a great selection of Australian and New Zealand drops (and a couple of European choices).
I don’t know about you but I love great pub food, and 4 pines know how to do great pub food. The pies are hearty, huge and full of flavour, the steak and seafood is cooked just right, and the burgers are mammoth alongside their chunky beer battered chips. They also have a reasonably sized gluten free menu available that includes some snacks, mains & salads.
The 4 Pines Brewing Company is situated on the wharf side of Manly just above the Manly Cinemas so it is easily accessible by ferry if you choose to make a day of it. With outdoor and indoor seating available, and live music from time to time, it is easy to while away the hours at this establishment in comfort, which I have.
